Thread: Auto-Tag in Winamp

    Default Auto-Tag in Winamp

    Hi,

I just found out about this amazing feature - it uses the Gracenote sample wave hash database and IDs the track for you. It's the same database that Sony Ericsson's TrackID service uses.

To use it, load up a track in Winamp (I have Winamp Pro - not sure if this feature also exists in the free Winamp - but that's what keygens are for - AOL won't be hurt, I promise Right-click the file in the playlist and select "File Info" (or use the Alt-3 keyboard shortcut). Click the Auto-Tag button.

Confirm the track online, as this isn't always 100% accurate.

This should be a staple in any music geek's toolbelt.

I also think this should either be stickied or added to the FAQ, beside the tips on track ID'ing (eg. searching for heard lyrics fragments) before posting an ID request here.

    What say you, tuneID community?
