Default Two 1992 tracks: "trifle tricksy tricksy" and "yo tag this"

Two tracks both from mid- to late-1992, possibly early 1993.

Think they were played out by Bukem and/or Ellis Dee.

    1) Male vocal sample: "trifle tricksy tricksy"??

    2) Stripped-back breakbeat, quite an industrial sound, vocal sample "yo tag this" or "yo tardis", something along those lines.

Not a lot to work with I know, but hopefully might ring a bell with someone.

    Many thanks.

Ah, great stuff - that’s the one, impressed you worked it out but thank you for the ID

Found a clip of the second track here at 33:24… https://youtu.be/A-OEym8LJSE

    Thank you.

Do you happen to know which event that set is from? I’ve had a look at some of Bukem’s 1992 track lists and none seem to fit, but it definitely mentions Fantazia. I didn’t think it was Showcase or 2nd Birthday?

The first part is Ellis Dee @ The Showcase, no idea where the Bukem part is from sorry.

I remember Bukem & Conrad coming on at the Fantazia Showcase, we were queuing to get in & the bass was rattling the warehouse walls. We couldnt believe we were missing it, then i ended up getting fully searched & managed to get in to see & hear the last 20 mins of the set !

An awesome night though & excited for Top Buzz to come on at 5am, best set of the night for me & a change in the style of music was apparent, darker & tougher. Slipmatt was supposed to play the last hour but the Ratpack came on instead. Then the long long drive home to Cambridge.

This was the tracklist I found over at [rolldabeats] for Bukem's Showcase set - I couldn't match it up to the tracks on the link, e.g. only Bay B Kane was the Quarter To Doom track at the end but not Hello Darkness, and no Demon's Theme either?

The Bukem & Easygroove sets from the Showcase differ from the track lists , they played more tunes than listed, this may be due to certain tapes having shorter versions of the actual sets. I think the longer sets are in YouTube & I think easygroove played twice that night.

It’s definitely the last 15 mins of Bukem’s set at The Showcase. The tracklist might reflect the tape release whereas that extra 15 mins could be from a later released Fantazia CD. They started selling CD copies from the raves in the 2000’s, quite often with extra audio or no mc’s.

The end of the Bukem set was faded in at the end of the Ellis Dee tape in the link https://youtu.be/A-OEym8LJSE

Think that must be it - the main Bukem showcase set definitely fades out while it's still going after 56 mins (mid-way through Quarter to Doom) so assume it was released on a C60 cassette with some of the set missing. Then they had 15 mins to fill on the Ellis Dee cassette so added some of the missing Bukem set.

But for some reason it isn't picked up in any of the common published tracklists for Fantazia Showcase.

Can I request one final ID please: tune at 28:02, fast amens, reese-type bass and a repeated "Bass" vocal (might be two tunes in the mix??)

Thank you for your help on this, I've been trying to work out for years why the Bukem tunes don't match the main Showcase tracklist but good to get it cleared up
