Default Massive Attack - Galaxy FM - 1994

I've also got a partial tracklist for Massive Attack's appearance on Galaxy FM in late 1994 (if anyone knows the exact date let me know).

So, there's four tracks I haven't been able to ID yet:

    09. [22:32] - Erule - Listen Up (Instrumental) [Pallas]
    11. [30:09] - ESG - The Beat [99] (3D & Daddy G perform a Karmacoma freestyle rap over the backing track)
    18. [49:41] - Le Pamplemousse - Gimmie What You Got (Louis Flores Remix) [Street Beat - SBR 516] - Mushroom cuts between two copies to keep the bassline going for about 2 minutes before letting the vocals come in
    22. [58:22] - The Laurie Johnson Orchestra - The New Avengers Theme [EMI 2562]

when in doubt give shazam a shout, might be duff IDs but its something to search

    09 - https://www.shazam.com/song/59054300...-feat-dj-mehdi

    18 - https://www.shazam.com/song/14441150...-so-so-def-mix

    22 sounds like a 70s TV Theme

    oh yeah, I use shazam

    Track 09 - I don't think it's that. Heard it already.

The Dru Hill one is too late. But it does use the sample Gimmie What You Got by Le Pamplemouss. I've been through whosampled and no joy on it. Although Scarface by Akshen is very similar, but date is perhaps too late and also no instrumental. Mushroom is beat juggling on this one, so maybe it's just a minute or two of the no vocal part of a track.

    thanks tho mate

Awesome, thank you so much chiz. Great spot given it's wrong speed.

Ok, so track 18 is in fact Le Pamplemousse - Gimmie What You Got. Mushroom cuts between two copies (maybe using the Long version) to keep the bassline going for about 2 minutes before letting the vocals come in at the start of the record.

He could still have used the original Long version for the beats & bassline part, but likely he had two copies of that Ultimate Breaks & Beats album esp given that it would require pitching down to match the tempo/speed, and that's far easier with having two copies of the same song.

    Thanks for that chiz

    great spot

track 22 is annoying me, pretty sure its a UK 70s TV theme, something like The Avengers

I listeneded through Portishead 1995 Essential Mix, from 30mins in its full of similar 70s TV themes but I couldnt find a match

Someone on Discogs IDed it as The New Avengers Main Titles Theme (1976)

Clearly we're too young to remember it brady lol

    I'd say it's this release

oh yes, you were close indeed.

it seems there were at least 3 main titles used over the years, with that one perhaps used the least.
