Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can shed any light?
Ive been trying to id an old early techno / hardcore track from 1991 which contains the same riff as Blade uses in his "What you waiting for" hiphop track, but this track im after has various vox sample in, but the most memorable one for me is that the track breaks down and then after a short silence.... drops the vocal "IVE GOT THE POWER" (the same vox as what Snap used in their track) and is accomanied by the infamouse siren sound and the riff again. I know its vague, but im hopoing the lack of tracks using the power vocal may trigger memories? Ive attached a link to the blade hiphop track to help you hear the riff. Thanks in advance :)

The riff on the Blade track is from Jesus Christ Superstar (KLF reportedly based What Time Is Love on the same riff) and the Snap vocal is from Jocelyn Brown.
Don't know if any of that is helpful?
Maybe have a look here for tracks using the same samples:

edit: or has kammie nailed it?

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. The Liasons D track isnt the one albeit its a blinder. ...the track im after contains various voxs.....track kicks off with......"Do you want some of this?...yeeeeaahhh".......and these pop up at various times throughout the track........."Now....NOW is the time"......................"let me try, let me try, ohhhhh...(something) bass".....and the "Ive got the Power"...ill keep trying, but your comments have helped loads :)

Agreed mate, but I did not want to say "it's this" just in case it was not, you should know, I have mistakenly ID'd a few ID's in your threads in the past :p

Brilliant, thanks guys. Thats the track. Makes sense now if DJ Richie was involved and i never knew it. Ironically, the track is off of one of Richie's mixtapes i had years ago and i actually drove up to my old neck of the woods Lowestoft, Suffolk a couple of weeks ago to meet up with him for a beer and have a general catch up. I bought one of his usb sticks with all his Pulse Beats, Electric Dance mixes on. Thanks for your help :)

No worries :)
East Coast crew FTW,
Not sure if you know, but Mike Cullen (Mike Dred) released all his mixes and they are all up on Archive.org

Alex has stated that the Plastic Clothes Mechanic 12" is an embarrassment and appeared to be really ashamed of it. Funny that, because i think it's a killer 12" and in fact his best work. And find the Hyper on Experience/EZ Rollers stuff, all very forgetable, apart from Lord of the Null Lines, which i just don't like...lol

Nice one on that link to the Judge Dred tapes, still have Dred 16 in a box somewhere. Super fast mixing, packs alot onto a tape!

Strange he would say that, but I agree with you, for a 1990 release it was banging, both sides rock, it was actually the first 12" my mate Leon bought from Backs Records in Norwich back in 1990 :)

Ah, Dred 16 - a classic, I actually managed to fully ID that tracklist, I posted it on Archive.org under the username gslocal
19 & 21 were belters too!
