Thanks, Esther1982, that was real quick! I misheard the sample so it's not from Grace Jones (close call though, both Art of Noise and the Grace Jones album was produced by Trevor Horn) - anyway, thanks a lot again!

#2 was a huge wanted, I loved that bassline... the original vocal version is also top notch 1980s synthpop! phones:

Found #1 (Brass Construction - Give And Take (Dub Version)) ... in the record store I was working in, took a random shot at the 1980s section and to my surprise I went "ooh, I was looking for this" ;)
