Hi

This is an interesting ID....its from the auction segment from the UK programme 'Homes Under The Hammer'.

It's got a nice breakbeat sound to it, so perhaps I should chuck this into the breakbeat section -- mods, feel free in moving.

Anyway, here's the youtube link, which is coded to start the tune -- there's not much to go on. :-(

fingers crossed!

yeah, i hear it - might be -- its only a short loop on the programme -- definately a contender. i'll scoot on down to the basement and dig it out, rip it and see if i can match the loop. nice spot energizer -- let you know how i get on.

The dudes jacket 35mins lol

it's probably not a track. I would guess it's an extended loop taken from a royalty free pack for TV / film

I would agree with retrospect, the drum loop does sound incredibly familiar

Kammie,
I have tracked down one of the audio composers on the show (Michael Burdett) and have emailed him, hopefully I get a reply....

yeah it does sound super familiar, but perhaps retrospect is right -- interesting one -- hopefully that composer guy can shed some light on it.

thanks for the help guys, appreciate it.

Not had any reply Kammie, takes the piss!
I'll give him Homes Under The Hammer, I'll go round with a claw hammer and demand an explanation :p

Got a reply Kammie, but not a solid ID I'm afraid :(

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch.

I don't really have any responsibility for the incidental music within the body of the show except idents and graphics so the answer is no not one of mine.

However, having listened to the piece I know that I have used that drum sample before on another piece of music in another show.

I shall try and find out where I got it from but it might take a while

I do wonder, listening to it, if it came form a CDROM called I think XXXbeats (which I can't find anywhere on line)

Kind regards,

Michael Burdett

Will do buddy!
Had a bit of a Google and found a blog talking about a sample cd which might be it, cannot find any mention of that cd anywhere though

Waveformless: Is Vengeance Selling Stolen Samples? (http://waveformless.blogspot.co.uk/2009/05/is-vengeance-selling-stolen-samples.html)

I remember finding this one sample CD (something like BIG DANCE XXX BEATS!!!) and realizing that Gary Numan had used loops from it for nearly every track on the "Sacrifice" album without doing squat to them. Disappointing!

Try to find the source of this tune and I think you have the beat. (Tronikhouse - Uptempo)

I think it uses a 4 beat of that 'going to the auction beat'.

Whosampled sources it to this one,

Possible sample at 1:12
