Right I need an ID on a tune. It's not old skool, infact it's a bit shit, but I've got an acapella of some Jamaican sounding dude singing / rapping something like this...

We want you to rock to the beat
We want you to skank your feet
We want you to rock to the beat
And move your dancing feet.

Rock to the rhyhtm and you rock to the rhythm and you rock to the rhythm and.... JUMP! etc...

Please help! :D

A bit difficult to explain mate but its a Wigan Pier circa 97 tune from what I remember.

Lyrics (as mentioned) are

We want you to rock to the beat
We want you to skank your feet
We want you to rock to the beat
And move your dancing feet.

Rock to the rhyhtm and you rock to the rhythm and you rock to the rhythm and.... JUMP!

Then goes summat like

"Whether your black, whther your white, everybodys gonna have some fun"

Cant really describe the tuneage as I aint heard it in a while but Im pretty sure this is the one in question.

is it a piano tune.
ive heard one version with these vocals which sounds a bit hard and is very bouncy. the vocals are cut up abit.

Nar its not a piano tune. Hard and bouncy is prob the best description m8.

Theres a drum beat up to the break then a sort of driven horn sound.

Top description lol, I aint heard it for a while though to be honest.

Agree with Braddy - definitely Cutback - Rock to Rhythm. I use to use the accapella with a heap of tunes. Try it with the Bucketheads intro - the keeds luv eet!

Thank God for that, was getting out numbered then lol

I am totally sure that me and the man like biskit are spot on with this one.

It was played at the pier at the time they used to hammer 'Wand - Happiness', 'Didi - Give me love' etc etc etc. 97/98 if me mashed swede remembers right.

Pacs, we could both be right, altho the Cutback tune was out around 1995 on (errrmm, verrrry tasteful) green vinyl.

Does anyone remember a version of Cutback - put over what sounded like a remix of House Of Virginism - I'll Be there - heard this a couple of times so pretty sure that it was not just the accapella over something else

I thought this would have been a piece of piss!
Right can't do samples at the minute but I can tell you that the acapella I have does go on about being black or white.
The reason for asking about this tune is one of my flatmates had heard it in a club in Liverpool and wanted to know what it was.
The Cutback name doesring a bell and the 1995 date seems about right too.
If anyone else has a sample of the complete tune it would be greatly appreciated, and will put an end to this girls misery!

Daft cow thought it said "Rock to da riddy men"

What exactly are "riddy men" I wonder...:|
