Background:

I used to hear this song a lot around the same time that songs like Carnival de Casa (Rio Rythym Band), Burning (MK featuring Alana) and Every Now and Then (Ralph Falcon) used to be played.

I used to hear these songs at my favorite afterhours Family Groove which used to happen in Chinatown (Los Angeles) at the Hong Kong Cafe.

Song Description:

I want to say the deep voiced song vocal was a male who would repeat what I think I remember to be 'Outta sight'. The most memorable part of the song, and I have never heard another song do this, is that the beat would be thumping and then you would hear what sounded to me like a school bell that starts getting louder. Half a second before the point where you would expect the song (the school bell and beat) to hit its peak, the peak would hit and it would throw everyone dancing off because it would hit before you would expect.

If you can tell me this song I would be forever grateful. I have found most of the old songs I really used to like but this one has eluded me for almost 20 years.
