nice 1 biskit mate - aye im thinkin if we can move the friendly nature of id'in stuff n helpin people out it could work out well

im already pretty far into sorting it actually :)

what does every 1 else think?

heres a few plus points and negative points that ive thought of up 2 now...........

plus points

wel b able to have attachments which means no more fannying about with webspace etc

it will be as a sister site to osa - basically itl have ad's for this place all over it and n e 1 who wants to waffle will b sent directly here to be abused by u lot

wel b able to get other sites, vinyl stores etc linked to it coz it will be a generic tune id board which means more people

we will earn a lot more from affiliates with gemm etc etc coz we can have it as a 1 stop shop for yer id's and do a search with the full decent gemm search engine (rather than a 1 box thing with no options which tend not 2 get used)

wed b able to co brand and make the tune id forum look like another website easily which would attract more sites as theyl get the look and feel of the site they come from but all go 2 1 board

we will be able to cater for a wider range of styles coz we aint stuck to 1 sort of music like on osa - often youl find people wont ask us for stuff here coz they think theyl get flamed when theres sum 1 prolly knows the answer if theyd ask

there aint nowt out there like it

minus points

prolly have to re reg on the other board

got 2 boards to go on insted of just the 1

now the thing is tho it wud b linked from the tune id bit on our forum n e ways and so no matter what even if it doesnt work it would still be the same old id board just for us, except wel have the use of attachments

let us know what u think?

Couldn't agree more Butty, Top tunage i.d'ers on here compared to the other forums!! Most of the other forums specialise in 1 specific style of music, your idea of catering for other styles is a pretty damn fine idea!!

Just an idea Butty, but you wanna kind of make a questionaire for every member of the forum & ask 'em what they like!! Some of the peeps in the chillout never come in 'ere, for example, coz they only like 'Trance' and in here we speak 'Old Skool', so peeps shy away. Do some sort of questionaire on what music peeps like...

OLD SKOOL - HOUSE/PIANO HOUSE/HARDCORE
HOUSE
DISCO
GARAGE
DISCOHOUSE
PROGRESSIVE HOUSE
HARD HOUSE
TRANCE
TECHNO
ACID etc. etc.

this is just an example!!

aye thats a plan mate - the thing is i dont wanna get too big for me boots at first n put like 300 diffrent styles of music down and then never get no id's for noone, maybe if we had sections that we know enuff about collectively (i spose it wud b best when it gets goin coz wed b able to tell what tune id stlyes wed nail) and so we could just build it up n then also advertise out for people who know more about other styles to come n help us.

innit but also at the same time if sum 1 comes to the site and knows about say old skool and hardcore then theyd b use to the next bloke who may want a hardcore id innit. i think itl b all about having 1 sorta style at first (old skool like we have now) and then have a "other" section and whatever gets nailed/requested in there then gets a new section added and the peeps who r nailin em get trained up n mod the section that way peeps r gettin rewarded peeps r gettin id's everybodys happy

Pitty everyones in bed right now, be interestin' to see what every one thinks of your idea! Can see peeps thinkin' its pretty sh*t hot! ;) Title for the forum will change over time LOL -
Old skool anthemz + house and a bit of disco some trance, oh and now hardhouse LOL :D
Must be a bit of work involved for you then butty mate?!?

the topic will stil b here 2morra innit - the main reason that made me think of it was coz we cant have attachments on this board due to some people havin problems posting - the people that r havin problems postin is because of business proxy servers n so i figured people on a id board wont b uppin tunes at work will they and so wel get away with havin file uploads enabled coz the chatters wel send em here.

as for work nah mate most of its done lol its the id'ers that wud b doing the work innit plus ive already sorted va wud b admin'in it with me and itd b a case of it like it is here get the best peeps in to mod each bit innit.

good idea Butty.

have you thought about approaching other sites that have an i.d section?

if they all grouped together you'd have a vast amount of knowledge..

sometimes if a tune i want doesn't get id'd on here i'd think about putting it on other sites but couldn't be arsed..so this would save all that trouble..

and attachments would be a definate plus

Good idea,a couple of things, mite be best to limit the genre's,i.e,incorporate acid in oldskool,as thats what really started it all..and just 1 house category,as theres allways diffo mixes of most styles, and 1mans house,is another mans garage or techno...
this will limit the number of misplaced posts.

Also, what about an "equipment feedback" thread,to let users post there hands on experience with diffo equipment?
And 1 more thing,I've been to a board which appears to alow users to upload pics on threads..this mite be handy for peeps to upload samples...i can find what board it is if any1 thinks it worthy..

just some food for thought. :mexican:
