This is a great house tune played in a 12" vinyl mix on "Steve Masters' Modern Mix" in 1991, Live 105 radio station, San Francisco. The lyrics are 90% correct, forgive me if I missed something =) Most likely British from the accent. Uses a synthesizer similar to the one used in Easy Life by Cabaret Voltaire. Intro & break have lots of piano chords.

MP3 attached, almost 2 minutes long.

[Mixed in from Nitzer Ebb - Fun To Be Had]

[Sample: Rip her dry of the money]

You've gotta calm down
You've gotta take a stop
You're wasting away
Striving for nothing
You're burning oppressed in
Self-esteemy conquest
Desire to learn
You must have this
You must have that
The world inside my hands
But I can't handle that

[Repeat]

I live my life in the lonely world
I'm steppin' up it
But I'm not winning either
Still desperate for friendship
But that's the way it goes

And I still maintain that life's too long
If the world turned faster
We'd all be running nowhere
Still desperate for friendship
But that's the way it goes

You've gotta calm down
You've gotta take a stop
You're wasting away
Him striving for everything
Engineers
Burning up

[Sample: Rip her dry of the money] (x2)
[Sample: My coffin's right there]
[Sample: Rip her dry of the money] (x2)

[Mixed into VIM - Maggie's Last Party]
