hey
so I still remember a song I used to dance probably at least in 1990, but I have no sample of it.
It was pretty peculiar because it started with only the usual 4/4 beats and the sample of a gunshot repeated 4/8 times, then there was the typical female vocals singing, I remember the chorus was something like "got to belie-eeve" or "what to belie-eeve".
:fekked: I know it's crazy to ask for ids like this but who knows, you guys are geniuses :D

hmm only house track that i can thinkof like that is from around 94/95

Dredd stock - (pump ) dress it, has no singing just ragga type vox.
.
definetly has 4x4 beat and gunshot x 4 at the end of every few bars

and originally from Irving & Romeo- Brighter Day
Irving* And Romeo* - Brighter Day (12") at Discogs (http://www.discogs.com/Irving-And-Romeo-Brighter-Day/release/35009)

I'm 100% sure I danced this tune in 1990 or 1991 because the club (Vae Victis) where they played it was closed on april 1991.
thanks anyway :)

The vocal sample on Rave Digger is different, I'll check for Brighter Day anyway.

found a sample! But only the vocal part. I'm starting to think that the part with the gunshots might be another track the dj used to mix with this one on attachment. :)
Thanx

The only track I can think of right now with gunshots is Foremost Poets - Reasons To Be Dismal, there's a mix on the 12" with just beats & gunshots (Bonus Understanding).

YouTube - Foremost Poets - Reasons To Be Dismal? (Foresight Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmOGxwPMSv0)

Foremost Poets - Reasons To Be Dismal? (12") at Discogs (http://www.discogs.com/release/33548)

That's it!
I think I remember the version you mentioned, that's definetly the track I was looking for.
So my suspicions were true, the dj mixed this track with Chuck M "do it". I've always thought it was an unique track.... this is a little disappointing :D
Thank you very much!

I'm not 100% as someone id'd it for me years ago, but I can't find any trace of it on the net whatsoever either...
