Anyone know what this one is?

Cheers!

CH:S:SNZ

ID'd after 20 years!!! :D
ID'd as: Skylab - Interspace 2
http://www.discogs.com/Skylab-Interspace-Europa/release/398469
Thanks to firefox demon!

Also found another ID, not yet posted, on this EP:
Europa (Unity Mix)
It has the lyrics "now it is time to live in unity". Worth having a listen to. It's a little bit quirky but a kool tune.

Do you have it on set or something?

A local DJ played it on his radio show. So not part of a set.

Yes it's a great tune. Especially 1:10 mins into the sample where it has that cool ravey chord thang and female vocals.

Just had a listen to the original of Bostich and that vocal sample isnt in there. Also listened to the Reese Break Beat mix and New Life mix from 92 on this release Yello - Bostich (http://www.discogs.com/release/31773), and not there either.

I'm kinda thinking that weird vocal is from a cartoon character.

It definitely has nothing to do with Bostich. Dont know where, what or how you're hearing that sample but it aint there!!

Anyone else?

Wouldnt be suprised if it it the vocal but reversed hence the 'not the same as in the clip', just crossed me mind ;)

Hi, the same weird vocal is used on this Menace Makes 3 - Feel The Friction On My Feet / Keep On Comin' Around (http://www.discogs.com/release/175902) (Feel The Friction On My Feet (TTL CREW Mix)).

As that is the TTL Crew Mix, i wonder if the track youre after is the original mix or another mix of this track? It certainly sounds like its from the same era.

I have searched on discogs for any other tracks called Feel The Friction On My Feet and only one other came up, which is on this Greg J - Breakbeat Prototype V.2 (http://www.discogs.com/release/1109207). Its a hardcore mix cd. It includes a track by Menace Makes 3 called Feel The Friction On My Feet, but it doesnt say its the TTL Crew Mix. Im 99 percent sure its just a mistake, but you never know it could be the original mix or something....

Thanks Digital Delight, will check this out. :)

Edit:
Had a listen on YouTube and that's the correct sample this time! :)
Will now start exploring Menace Makes 3 and affiliates.
Thanks again!

We've made a little more progress with this one, albeit in a sideways direction. The vocal sample (or rather the lyric) has been identified by Thumpson at Backtotheoldschool as per the following link:
Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu) Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu
A nice bit of trainspotting there indeed!!

It's the name of a hill in New Zealand. Quite bizarre! So at least we now know what the guys is saying ... heh heh.
However still no idea where the vocal comes from.

I've been going through tonnes of 92/93 tunes and labels, all the big ones and sub labels but have had no luck so far. Unfortunately not all releases in Discogs have an associated Youtube sample so I may have had the tune right in front of me and not known it. Sighhh... :( phones: :spin: :fekked: :S

Does anyone recognize the breakbeat used in this tune? Or anyone know which Dj/artist may have used this in one of their tunes?

Thanks again guys for trying to help me out with this one!!

Thanks ollyd1211. Have had a listen to Conquer - War Path. Interesting tune.
At this point any info does help. I'll start checking out MMR, Conquer and Carl Cox releases.
Cheers mate!

Oh and happy new year everyone!! :)

Edit:
Just realised that MMR releases are mostly 94 to 95, so most likely won't be found on this label.

Hey!!! Thanks witteskoiier!! We now have the origin of the sample. More info can be found on this here: Quantum Jump - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_Jump)
A cool little video clip and the music is rather cool too. :) This is from 1976/77 yet it sounds like it was released mid to late 80's. Especially that bubbling 80's bassline.
These guys were well ahead of their time.

Now, I just need to find out what that 92/93 tune is.... the search continues....

And look who the co producer is on this - Marvin Beaver ergo Menace Makes 3.
Thanks ollyjd1211. Now gonna check anything and everything associated with Marvin Beaver, however not all releases on Discogs have youtube audio links so still might miss it.

Cheers.

Edit:
Errm, not that many releases associated with Marvin from 92 to 93. Could still be one of the other tracks on the Double Zero EP.

Edit 2:
I've also tried searching Listen to Music Samples, Remixes and Cover Songs | WhoSampled (http://www.whosampled.com) but to no avail.

As I've had no joy at any site getting this ID'd I'm wondering if anyone can perhaps ID the break beat used in the tune.

Does anyone know of any other tunes/artists that has used this? Or even the origin of the break beat?

I'm gettin desperate! heh heh! :fekked:

Cheers everyone!

Unknown Artist - Force EP (Vinyl) at Discogs (http://www.discogs.com/Unknown-Artist-Force-EP/release/375856)

B2 on here also uses your sample (vocal one)... dunno if it helps at all...

Dj_Choonz
24th January 2011, 05:10 PM
Thanks SecretSquizza. Can't find a sample of B2 or the other tunes on this release (except B1), however I've checked out the other tunes on the Blockhouse label and productions by Jezz Wright but to no avail.
The B1 track on the Force EP is rather interesting though ... it's pretty much a good part of the tune 'Harmonik Force' by DJ Freshtrax & DJ H.M.S.
B1 was officially released as 'Have My Mind' by G-Force

All very interesting but sadly still no joy with the ID .. :('''

Hi, I'm looking for another song with the same sample.
It was from a mix cassette recorded in 1990 or 1991.
Here's the link:
