Numark Matrix 3 - £195

Mint, does everything I need, just needs a modification to alter the way the transform buttons work and it'll then be 100% perfect :D

Product Review
If this mixer is anything to go by then numark will be the industry leader within the next two years. The rate they've picked their r&d up is phenomenal and now they're really starting to make a push on the big boys' spots. The dxm06 is packed with features, including a feather light crossfader, inbuilt effects unit with a tap and hold mechanism and kill switches and eqs that go all the way down. This french made mixer (http://fr.audiofanzine.net/produits/index,idproduit,13174,mao,freevox_dj_7.html) ..... a bit oldschool, but, as described by DJ Laurent Garnier , probably the best sounding mixer ever ..
a bit expensive I reckon .... :hubba:

Invested in a Pioneer DJM600......and it is the biz

To be honest I never really use the effects on it that much and have never used the sampler, but the build is excellent and the crossfader is da bollox imo.....

Always made the mistake of buying cheaper mixers sub £250, not knocking them as they were good mixers but I and ended up buying about 3 mixers in the space of 5 years... i reckon I'll keep this DJM600 for 5 years so i'll save money in the long run as I will not be upgrading in the next 5 years with this baby...

I have just got me a Behringer Djx 700 this week. :D

I found it to have the best range of features for the money and with the use i will be giving it i am sure it will last for quite a while now.

Had a couple of geminis before hand but the crossfaders were both knackered.

Andy

DJM600 all the way for me - the oversized EQ pots are ACE for all round fun and skillz in the mix. The sound isn't the best quality compared to the Allen & Heath how ever I really don't like the channels and the size of the EQ pots. The xfader doesn't respond as well as the DJM600 for me.

I would really like a RANE MP 2016 (http://www.decks.co.uk/products/mixers/rane/mp2016) with a RANE XP 2016 (http://www.decks.co.uk/products/mixers/rane/xp2016)

The EQ's are incredible and the the rotary knobs are sooooooo nice to mix with - the way the 2 tunes come together in the mix is amazing

I started off with one from Tandy that my brother gave me lol.

Then around 92/93 I got a Vestax PMC 15SL - which was great at the time (still got it).

00/01 ish, I bought a Gemini PS-646 PRO which is what I use today. The crossfaders have been crap though (crackly and stiff), but my new one is super slick.

I've been looking at new mixers for the past couple of weeks though - I need a new good quality 3/4 channel mixer, with loads of input/output sockets and not too expensive. I've been looking at the Numark DXM09 - which is 24 bit and uses a digital xfader. Not sure what the difference is between an analogue and digital xfader though, so i'll have to look into that :)

This is what I got a couple of months ago (after waiting for what seemed like a lifetime for the UK release!!). In my opinion its the mutts nuts!!

The effects are as good as on any top of the range mixer at a fraction of the price. the adjustable crossfader slope was a big sellin point for me too.

And yeah, I started out with a Tandy one too, made by Realistic. Didn't even have a crossfader, just 4 or 5 channels I think.

I had a Don 2 from Intimidation, when it was right it was spot on,but it needed servicing every 6 months, bought it from Soundivision in London just after i was released.
Replaced last year with the Pioneer Djm400,mate had the first version, which was rock solid, and great sound quality,do like the old 600 pioneer, but there are so many buttons and switches
