i am looking for some help with some old house music or do they call it early techno i have asked various online record shops but do not know the answers so someone suggested i used this forum page so here goes

the first track is the beat of love this is not the beat of love by the grid the lyrics go the beat of love yeah yeah yeah i said the beat of love yeah yeah yeah the music is kind of a electric bass guitarish type of music

the second track is the house is now on fire again this is not the roof is on fire by westbam the lyric out of this goes the house is now on fire the music from this record is techno music

the third track is a song about an angel the song starts off by a women singing arms like an angel you`ve got hands and feet thats all i know i hope its enough

the forth is i`m hot for you it starts off with a women saying i`m hot for you what you gonna do i`m hot for you what you gonna do hot for you what you gonna do hot hot hot hot hot hot then it repeats it all over again its sounds like the same women who sings it on the record called take me away now by s bam

all these records are from the early nineties and i thought were good tunes but don`t know the names of them so i would apppreciate any info

I used to be a big Monroe's fan - John Jepson was the bollox then. I definitely remember that Beat Of Love tune. It was one of his trademark tunes. I haven't got a clue what it is mind. I seem to recall trying to get hold of it many years ago. I've no idea why I would have given up though - drug fade probably. I'm definitely gonna find out what it's called now though. I'll try for the others as well.

By the way DigTheMusic - where are you from?

I was a 90-91 head an all. I've probably met you at some time or other.

Apart from the obvious one's, some big Monroe's tunes then were:

Bananarama - Only Your Love, Hardcore Instrumental mix
Rosso Barocco - Do-Do-Don't Stop (Can you feel it, hi ho, can you feel it, nananananah-oh)
Creation - Give It Up
Big Score feat Darryl Pandy – Trust Gone Wild
Liz Torres - If You Keep It Up
and of course the biggest
Freaky Dreamer - Freaky Dreamer (You the land that I I know, that I wish it could be, and for you it's my home, the only place I know)

You probably know these already though.

I don't know if you already know this but the best places to get tunes from (rather than the likes of Hard To Find & Dance Music Finder) are:

http://oldskoolanthemz.gemm.com

www.netsounds.com

They're a collection of sellers instead of just one seller.

Hmmmn, Burnley dweller huh. You dont know the UFI collective do you?.

You wanna watch out for all those punctuation marks on your posts m8 - your going a bit crazy with them!! . Joking.

You been down that Afterlife or whatever its called yet in your town center? Is it poncy MeanCat /Chigago rock or top proghouse/retro tunage?. I havent heard the goss yet so havent ventured down.

Dont know any of them descriptions bud, unfortunately. But youve come to the right place I reckon..............

See ya around,

Sirius.

don`t get in the town much as it is a pile of shitttte the only decent club they had was the angels/visions but they decided to knock it down
plus not as young as i used to be

Your only consolation is that its better than Nelson :). Yeah the towns gone to the dogs in many ways - as for nightlife its like a "puffs pantry" down there! Also Beermonsters abound and no decent tunes in sight.

I was an Angels goer myself before it changed to something else, then changed to Heaven then something else (still went to retro nights though) and even caught myself in the CLUB-XPO-BAR near the library a few times (now Afterlife). The ruffians ruined most places.

If you can up some RA or MP3 files you would stand a better chance on ID's I think.........

Cheers,

Sirius.

Right - my mate came round tonight to watch the footy and he was THE old Monroes head. The Beat Of Love tune is one that Jepson wouldn't tell anyone what it was called. He reckoned he got it as a promo at a German record fair. Regardless of whether he was talking out of his hoop at the time, no-one still knows what the tune is called.
Incidentally my mate reminded us of what some people thought the lyrics were - "I want a paedophile, yeah yeah yeah, and my body says rock". Bit sick.

Lol, if he registers we'll trick him into telling us the ID ;)

We'll tell him it was used as the backing music for a gay German porn film - "Horny Hans Honks His Horn" or summat

Tell him the cat # is HANS 069, and the only way he can proove it's not is to tell us what's etched into his copy....

Neil Jackson aka DJ Cruz - I still see him from time to time - I'll ask him.

digthemusic
3rd April 2002, 09:37 PM
remembered something about the tape if you do catch up with neil jackson the tape starts off wit the accapella i`m hot for you and the angel song is about the second or third song in on the tape most of the mixing on the tape is some of the best mixing i`ve ever heard

once had this tape but after a long time things dissapear
if i have`nt said thanks for the info yet thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks

in just a few days on this website i`ve had more info than htfr&dmf put together they either don`t know the answer or it`s not in stock so they won`t tell you the answer or they ignore your emailes altogether

what i should have done is asked at the time what the records were called but completely off it like everybody else in monroes

The 4th tune is called fixation by megafloor released on X-energy records in 1990. Catalog#: X-12077 . The beat of love (1st tune) was a track Jepson claimed he had brought back from italy on white label, others tell me this was a myth, I've also been told it was called feel of love. Hope this info's OK

1.N.B.L beat of love.

2.cappella be master in ones own house.

3.Velvet hold me.

4. karen young hot for you.(pella)

I gotta say i would`nt have found non of these tunes if it was for this site and the knowledge of the people on it.

May there be many more to come.

P.s the fixation is a tune and a half as well but very scarce. :(
