I have both these tunes but I'm pretty sure there are better mixes out there ... I was just wondering which mixes are your favourites ??

Yomanda - Make my body rock
Lisa Lisa - Let the beat hit em

Maybe it's just the originals? All I have are some remixes ...

Cheers - Jon

The track Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - Let the Beat Hit 'Em, is the original. There was a version done about 97-98, but can't mind who done it, i have the vinyl @ home, I'll check it out and get back to you.

For me the best mix of Jomanda - Make my body rock is the one sided rare as fook mix that was done some boys from Flying back in 91 - basically Make my body rock with some beats mixed with Sound Source - Take me up synths.... delish  Cheers to the well-connected LastnightaDJ for sorting me this wicked tune at the beginning of the year.... been loving it ever since

the orig "let the beat hit em" was quite a slow tune but the one you probably want might be called (and dont hold me to it) the lisa lisa with love mix which appeared on the remixes vinyl called "let the beat hit em part 2"

I can check when I get home but somebody might confirm this before I get home.

Tony.

you might be thinking of the (rather tasty) sheryl jay's version that came out in the mid 90's.

Here Is A sample of the shena one.

Shena - Let The Beat Hit 'Em, was out in 1977 on :VC:
Recordings.

Mixes on the record are :

Original 12" Mix
Dunn & Stingly's Vocal Mix
Derrick Carter's Groovy Dub Rub
Continental Vocal Mix

There was also a trance version of this out in 2002 by Sound De-Zign (Happiness) on the NuLife Label.

I have the CC Vocal CLub Mix of Lisa Lisa - and also the CC Instrumental on the flip - is this the best mix ? It's such a sweet tune I just wanna make sure that I shouldn't be hunting down some other mixes ? Is the original too slow ?
