Hi All,

I'm after a 1991 or 1992 hardcore breakbeat tune that copied the recognisable bit from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet - I think it's the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy piece. As I recall it wasn't a direct sample, more sort of beefed up.

At a push it might even be 1990.

Hope someone can help.

Many thanks

Jammer

Thanks for the quick reply. Sadly this isn't the one - I already checked WhoSampled. I'm pretty sure the one I am looking for isn't a direct sample which is why it doesn't appear on WhoSampled. Cheers anyway man.

Found it!

The classical tune was actually Grieg - In the Hall of the Mountain King (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s-Kz8S4dYw&t=19s) which sounds a little like Tchaikovsky's Sugar Plum. I used this site to tap out the melody as I felt it differed a little from Tchaikovsky: https://songguesser.com/

Once I figured that out it was easy to track down the track as: Tango - Can't Stop the Rush (Tango Remix) (https://www.discogs.com/release/21782-Tango-The-Impact-EP-Tango-Remixes) [1992]. I should have known this as I have it on vinyl!
