Thread: Derrick May @ Barn (Braintree) - 1989-08-24

Default Derrick May @ Barn (Braintree) - 1989-08-24

One of the best sets I've ever listened to. Unfortunately, I don't seem to know the majority of the songs.
There are a lot of really, really nice ones, but I uploaded them all anyway.

00:00 Ron Trent - Altered States (??? - thought it was released in 1990)
01:50 acid house with "pump it up" vocal
    04:34 acid house breakbeat
    06:50 acid house
08:55 house with male vocals about dreaming
10:45 house breakbeat with warped strings?
16:57 Rhythim Is Rhythim - Strings Of Life (what version & might be playing 2 versions back to back?)
21:35 experimental deep house with sax
    24:59 GTO - Pure (Energy)
    28:35 acid house and strings
    34:24 ambient?
    38:28 acid techno house
    41:00 techno house with piano
45:00 acid house with non-English vocals (sorry, I have no idea what language it is)
    48:56 techno house
50:30 breakbeat with "homeboy's gotta make some noise"
52:48 techno lots of male (alien sounding) vocals "somebody help me"
62:16 deep house I might have kept part of the previous track high pitched instrument (might be part of previous track?) and trumpet "get funky" "work that body move that body" (might be from next song)

I was really sleepy when I did this, so please tell me if I messed anything up. I think I really messed up the clip of the last song in the set.
    Here's the full set:

    Thanks!

Thanks guys! I think the last tune is:

    Fade To Black - Insynch

judging from the post in the discogs forum.

By the way, can someone post what version of Strings of Life is playing? I can't tell cause most of the versions are really similar and the quality isn't too good.

Of course, it is In Synch - I had it all the time

Strings Of Life is the original version, A2 on here: Rhythim Is Rhythim - Strings Of Life
but there is another track mixed over it - B5 on here: Yellow Magic Orchestra - BGM

Thanks chiz! I was thinking it might've been one of the 89 versions because of the date of the set, but thanks for confirming it is the original!

And thanks for everyone else that id'ed these tracks.

Ignore the date on the lable... looking at the tracklisting, this set is from Summer 1990.
Please try my most wanted unknowns.. Vol I (Solved) Vol II Vol III
