First, apologies, I don't have anything for you to listen to!!
All i have is some distinguishing features;

I can't describe the music, apart from saying its not a party tune, its a curious composition, rhythmical, with drums, FX and rather unique sounds. Not aggressive, just strange. (Maybe suit the Leftfield thread?)
Anyway, after things get going for a while you hear; "Is it a bird? Nooo", "Is it a plane? Nooo" then, at half speed, just "Is it a bird...." then the rhythm builds up again and eventually you get some kind of porn movie sample along the lines of "fk me sandman", "groan" etc etc.

This tune still pops into my head from time to time, just for its uniqueness, even though I never heard it anywhere, apart from on this mix tape that a mate from 'round our way made. He's on the other side of the world from me now, and he couldn't remember last time I asked him on Facebook anyway. I once thought it was an Irdial release, but I've tried them and I'm pretty sure it isn't now. It could be from '93 or maybe that's just when I had the tape.

I would be amazed if anyone knows the tune and recognises it from that description, but worth a go.
M.

Thanks for trying, but it's certainly not that one. It's a million miles away from that pop-dance kind of sound. On the same tape was things like Max 404 - Quidity and Freakadelika. More dark and moody.

I'll have to pester my mate and see if there's any way I can jog his memory.

Apparently it is an Irdial, this one Thee J Johanz - EP. But its not 'moveyourbutty' and no samples available for the other tracks, so I'll have to buy a copy and see.

Yep, success. It's B2 on that release.

I really should have known that. I'm an Irdial enthusiast and have pretty much everything they released....but those Thee J Johanz records are so weird and understated (but really good - get the other one on Irdial too) they hardly fit into any kind of dance music set so don't get played much.

Nice one Max. I ordered one off Discogs already, so if all goes well I'll have a copy in a few weeks.

It arrived pretty quickly from New York, so I YouTube'd it. Had forgotten it had dialogue all through it, was too busy listening to the drum programming I think.

YouTube - Thee J Johanz - Salam! (felixthecat mix)
