Thread: 92/93ish acid/piano techno track

    Default 92/93ish acid/piano techno track

Hi, been trying to track this one down for ages. Big 303 build ups, piano, and a male voice chanting "is this real", "what you feel", then it broke down with "I want more...".

Attached is my re-creation of the piano and 303 riff as I vaguely remember it, so it's not exact. The track was recognisable as it started with a distinct beat - the kick drum was like a heart beating, and the hihat was a very loud processed 909 open.

    Welcome to tuneID!

Reconstructions may throw you off track easily, but I can't say that I've heard this one before.

Let's start out by asking if you're certain that this track was played before a particular year? (earlier than 1994, judging by your post) I've only heard the sawtooth303-piano combination in a few tracks, as producers usually avoid instruments that collide in the mix.

Also, if you're confident that this track is slower than 140BPM, we can rule out a lot of those 1995ish hardtrance tracks.

    Hi thanks for the welcome.

Yep it was definately before 94, hard to put a speed on it as probably pitched up by the DJ but I'd say it wasn't faster than 140bpm - it was a more downtempo acid builder.

On a simlar note I've attached a track from a Carl Cox set has some of the same vocals but more hard trance, don't know if they're connected.

    That one wasn't so hard

The same vocals, do you say? Since you say your unknown has a 303, maybe Ramon Zenker is the producer you're looking for?

Looking to ID the first mp3 posted if you scroll up, Amok shares the same vocal sample that's why it was posted!

Just like I mentioned - the sawtooth 303 and piano don't play at the same time, because they would collide in the mix.

Nice to see this one solved, anyway.

    Excellent - my bad!

Got to admit it's not a bad recreation for a track I last heard 16 years ago even if I did accidentally mix the two riffs lol!!

    Thanks again

You're right about that, I've made a couple of recreations myself and know the various ways they can go wrong. Kudos to you!
