Why can't we edit posts?

it starts to get messy if you can't go back and edit your original thread to either update what has been id'd, so it keeps things in order and easy for people to view.

I appreciate that a minority don't want people to delete unknowns once they have been id'd.....but thats just a bit daft, if people were worried about getting something id'd and leaving it on the server for leachers to grab the vinyl once id'd etc...then they would not start a thread on this forum...get my point

anyway...my suggestion is to allow edits of threads...

Anyone else agee ?

the plan is for the future to have a archive of all tune id's with samples there and so if we enabled te edit function then some of the posts in the archive wouldnt have the samples there anymore.

also the problem of people removing there id's when they were ID'd correctly was getting more and more popular which isnt very fair.

Totally agree with that !!! many people visit this site for informations ....& without the samples up after Iding, what's the point visiting ??? Of course they might be the ones to first order the Ided tracks over the web, but I don't think so, & anyway , there is enough records in this world to make everyone happy !
What I miss about the edit function is when I want to update the list of tracks that been Ided on the first post , I also if I made a mistake....could it be possible to just make sure the samples cannot be removed while the Edit button stay here ???

Yep thats a good solution....

I fussed about not being able to delete unknowns once they are id... i agree that is is a good resource for people... But it would be great to be able to edit the post when making typo's and house keeping of track listings etc... that all I want to really be able to do.

lol i should have read that properly, then I would not have posted the above (or I could have just goine back in an edited it )

I suppose enabling edit functions and making rules that people can't delete id's it out of the question then.... to hard to police eh... would be a full time job for a mod..

anyway had my 2 pence.... and the rest .... I can live without editing posts
