It's an intriguing side of Digweed you don't often get to see. Far removed from any of the progressive or tech house that he usually spins. However, the eclectic nature of the music he selects - classics from all over the place - means that the set as a whole isn't very cohesive.

This is certainly one of my favourite mix cds that I own. This selection of tracks manages to capture the optimism and hope, that was the context for a lot of early 90's house music, so well. Its not only a collection of great music, its also managed to capture and transport some of the spirit that surrounded early 90's house music.

It perhaps stands out so well, because John Digweed has been able to look back and only select timeless tracks that dont sound dated now and deliberately not gone for the obvious. As a result, even though it has come out at a time when dance music is so dark, twisted and cynical, it still sounds so fresh, new and full of hope.

Even if you were there the first time round this is still a release not to be missed.
