Default ID from Frankie Knuckles @ Palais Osthafen 29.08.1992

    Opening track: https://www.mixcloud.com/cirillo71/f...rt-d-29081992/

Sounds like a remix by Frankie Knuckles or someone else from the Def Mix stable, but I haven't been able to find it in their remix catalogs so far.

As an added twist, I received a helpful tip that what sounds like a rerecorded version of the track was included on a compilation out of South Africa in 1998 "Mixmaster Vol 3" titled Undercover (Instrumental Dub) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKQXnukDgY8

But unfortunately that title probably has no connection to the original - some of the other tracks on the compilation heavily copy better known tracks (e.g. the MAW mixes of Erotica by Madonna).

This tune does my head in. I hope you find what it is.
I am attaching a local copy here, which Shazam does recognize as Mixmaster - Undercover (for the sax part)
The Mixmaster is a remake album, for example the first song "So Very Lonely" is a remake of "Jazzy - Lonely" from 1992, so I was hoping "Undercover" has some relationship with the original track name, but it might not, as you said... maybe somebody else has a brighter idea.

    Thanks for adding the clip!

Like you say, some names on the Mixmaster series do reference the originals (e.g. vol 2 includes rerecorded versions of Pennies from Heaven by Inner City) so maybe looking for a track called Undercover is a place to start - haven't turned up anything yet though.

Think I know them all on this mix
exception - the Debbie Gibson sampling
at 1h03. Anyone know it? It isn't Blind Truth Why can't we see (Debbie's blind date). That's the only track I knew
with the One Step Ahead sample...
