    Default Tune ID Help

    Hi Guys,

Basically I am trying to track down a tune that we used to play on our Pirate station as did most stations from back in the late 80's, it wasnt a mainstream tune or one of the major icons, it was a house tune with samples one of which was like metal riqocheting of the side of something metal, its not the regular clint eastwood samples or the main ones that had like a bullet noise but it was a hugely popular track from back then.

I know we should know it as we used to play it but all those years going by has made us loose track of the tune and its name.

Please help us as we want to play it on our station now we are back.

    Cheers

Thanks for trying with those though bro.

hahahaa yeah funny how in your own head it sounds different to how others percieve it, but no its not that, I would say thats more a clanging sample, this one if you can imagine holding your hand out at one level then going upper and then down with a back and forward motion thinking sound with dee-dung, once you know the track you will go ohhh yeahhhh I remember that one, my thinking it didnt get out of the pirates playlist to the mainstream, the tempo is a mid range to slightly slower beat ratio, but it is a big classic but I'm thinking its one of those forgotten gems due to it only getting pirate station airplay.

Sorry mate, but really appreciate the help, I have my team of Fantasy jocks (12 of us) yeah we're back live @ fantasyfm.co.uk (thats not a spamming plug btw haha) trying to assist to, what's worse of my DJ's played it end part of last year but he can't remember what it was as I just caught it in his shows.

Check also these tracks most likely on rotation on your station back then:

    Party Atmosphere - Timbau
Rhythim Is Rhythim - Move It (Special Mix)
Rhythim Is Rhythim - Spaced Out
    Ubik - Harmonise Me

I have another bit of it I've remembered, the drumbeat sounds like clicking your fingers, u remember there is certain tunzz back then that used them, well this was one of them to.
    A little like this - https://youtu.be/HkNB5eFBgHw?t=36m32s
But it still has the ricocheting sample as well

Unfortunately its none of the above, but massive thanks and respect guys, keep them coming.

    Few probing questions:

What countries would you say the sound stemmed from?
    Were there any vocals?
What feel was it? Deep? Breakbeat? Acid?
What instrument/hardware feel did it have?
Can you remember the label? Artwork? Colour?
Did the station get sent the vinyl? Did someone buy it?
Any DJ play it live? If so, who? where?

Might seem a lot of questions, but the more info you can provide the better the chance it can be found.

I done a similar task with the Lee-Gee unknown from Fantazia and wasn't too far away with Lombardoni - unfortunately there's no sample here - so unlike the Lee-Gee tune - Shazam is out!
