Thread: Calling all Todd Terry experts - The Dubs

These tracks have been bugging me for ages. I got hold of the first three comps a while back and should have the next two soon, if my download ever starts. They are all fully released TT tunes, at least as far as i can tell, and I need some help IDing the last few. Clips in the Juno links, hope that's OK with everyone.

* The tunes span from early 90s onwards, they could be from any year. I just listed here as that's the earliest.

Can i just check on the 3rd Storee IDs? The T Dub sounds like the vocal version, and Tee's Storee sounds like the dub version (the opposite way round) Is that right?

Edit: just noticed that the TNT Dub on part 5 sounds like another version of the 3rd Storee track

You're right - T Dub is the vocal version, TNT Dub is the dub version, and Tee's Storee is... some other mystery version of the mix.

I have the one here as "T Dub" on a cdr from SoundWorks music pool as "Todd Terry Ext Mix Show Mix".

Brilliant, thanks for the reply. I've marked the TNT Dub as the instrumental version and Tee's Storee as the dub, as that's how they sound to my ears

Wait there's another one of these in there... "Gettin It" is an instrumental version of "Tee's Storee"

TC's Groove seems to be another version of EBTG - Driving?

Nice spot. I've named Gettin It as the Dub Instrumental.

Also TC's Groove isn't EBTG, but i had another look at my TT mixes from ther same year and its an instrumental/dub version of The Cardigans - Lovefool (Tee's Indeep Mix). It seems to be unreleased as i couldn't find an exact match for this version.

"Acid Dub" has some elements from his Daft Punk "HBFS" remix... the bassline, the general structure... but it has some samples from another song so I don't know if it'd be correct to call it a dub of Daft Punk?
