I've found Audacity to be a wonderful sound clip editor. Powerful and versatile editing features, plenty of export options, cross-platform, and it's free.

Hi peeps, does anyone know a versatile audio utility other than Audacity? I use audacity to rip tape and stuff but if i want to reocrd a clip from a set i have to upload the whole set which seems to take forever! So, im looking for a programme that will let me edit a 90 min set quickly and easily. Does anyone recommend any programmes? Cheers.

Can you not just highlight the part of the audio you want and save as new file or copy & paste it in Audacity? I've barely ever used it but I'd be surprised if you can't.

That's what I do, but I think the downside that Harri74 refers to is that Audacity needs to convert the file during import before you can start some editing magic. He'd rather have an application that can skim through the mp3(?) directly and still have some simple trimming functions.
