Default Tearing my fookin hair out

I can't play any fookin sound clips and it's driving me up the wall.

When clicking on a clip I started getting the 'open / save / cancel' dialog box instead of the tune playing. This meant I could download the clips to my hard drive and then listen to them there. This is a farce though.

However I then stupidly unticked the 'show me this message every time' box. Now when I click on a clip, not only does it not play the clip, but I get no dialog box and just the small piece of text at the bottom of the screen saying 'downloading from site'. Fook knows where they're downloading to though cause I can't find them. This is also happening on OSA but I'm still getting the dialog box on there.

I don't think it's a problem with my media player set up as I can play clips instantly from other sites (HTFR, Amazon etc.)

Sadly I know nowt about computers really so short of putting my boot through the screen I'm at a loss

Any ideas?

I'm not 100% on this as I don't want to fuck up my own settings lol... but try loading IE, going to Tools\Internet Options... Security Tab... Custon Level button... and scroll down to the Downloads section and check if File Download is set to Enable.... or poss reset the defaults. I'm using IE6 BTW.

Had to uninstall quicktime 7 this morning myself as it had decided to take over the handling of mp3's through IE instead of winamp (even though all the settings still pointed to winamp ) the cheeky bastard!! Wasn't having any of it with this site and just kept crashing IE every time I opened an mp3... other sites worked fine though... not that i wanted to use it as my default player anyway.

Top fella Noel Xmas hamper is in the post.

I changed the security settings like you said and got the dialog box back up but was still having to download files.

I've now uninstalled Quicktime and that's done the trick

I think I know what's happened. I downloaded iTunes the other night and this automatically installs a new version of Quicktime. This has then taken over my PC even though all the settings say otherwise.

Cheers again

Leon

Yep.. sounds similar to what happend to me. Was using Quicktime 6 and it asked me to update to Quicktime 7, so I did and it takes over! Fucked it right off!
