Default [SOLVED] 92/93 tune with weird vocals.

Anyone know what this one is?

    Cheers!

    ID'd as: Skylab - Interspace 2

    Thanks to firefox demon!

Also found another ID, not yet posted, on this EP:
    Europa (Unity Mix)
It has the lyrics "now it is time to live in unity". Worth having a listen to. It's a little bit quirky but a kool tune.

A local DJ played it on his radio show. So not part of a set.

Yes it's a great tune. Especially 1:10 mins into the sample where it has that cool ravey chord thang and female vocals.

Just had a listen to the original of Bostich and that vocal sample isnt in there. Also listened to the Reese Break Beat mix and New Life mix from 92 on this release Yello - Bostich, and not there either.

I'm kinda thinking that weird vocal is from a cartoon character.

It definitely has nothing to do with Bostich. Dont know where, what or how you're hearing that sample but it aint there!!

    Anyone else?

Hi, the same weird vocal is used on this Menace Makes 3 - Feel The Friction On My Feet / Keep On Comin' Around (Feel The Friction On My Feet (TTL CREW Mix)).

As that is the TTL Crew Mix, i wonder if the track youre after is the original mix or another mix of this track? It certainly sounds like its from the same era.

I have searched on discogs for any other tracks called Feel The Friction On My Feet and only one other came up, which is on this Greg J - Breakbeat Prototype V.2. Its a hardcore mix cd. It includes a track by Menace Makes 3 called Feel The Friction On My Feet, but it doesnt say its the TTL Crew Mix. Im 99 percent sure its just a mistake, but you never know it could be the original mix or something....

Thanks Digital Delight, will check this out.

    Edit:
Had a listen on YouTube and that's the correct sample this time!
Will now start exploring Menace Makes 3 and affiliates.
    Thanks again!

We've made a little more progress with this one, albeit in a sideways direction. The vocal sample (or rather the lyric) has been identified by Thumpson at Backtotheoldschool as per the following link:
Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu
A nice bit of trainspotting there indeed!!

It's the name of a hill in New Zealand. Quite bizarre! So at least we now know what the guys is saying ... heh heh.
However still no idea where the vocal comes from.

I've been going through tonnes of 92/93 tunes and labels, all the big ones and sub labels but have had no luck so far. Unfortunately not all releases in Discogs have an associated Youtube sample so I may have had the tune right in front of me and not known it. Sighhh...

Does anyone recognize the breakbeat used in this tune? Or anyone know which Dj/artist may have used this in one of their tunes?

Thanks again guys for trying to help me out with this one!!
