We've made a little more progress with this one, albeit in a sideways direction. The vocal sample (or rather the lyric) has been identified by Thumpson at Backtotheoldschool as per the following link: Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakit anatahu
A nice bit of trainspotting there indeed!!
It's the name of a hill in New Zealand. Quite bizarre! So at least we now know what the guys is saying ... heh heh.
However still no idea where the vocal comes from.
I've been going through tonnes of 92/93 tunes and labels, all the big ones and sub labels but have had no luck so far. Unfortunately not all releases in Discogs have an associated Youtube sample so I may have had the tune right in front of me and not known it. Sighhh...
Does anyone recognize the breakbeat used in this tune? Or anyone know which Dj/artist may have used this in one of their tunes?
Thanks again guys for trying to help me out with this one!!
